E. LILIAN WISE

E. Lilian Wise practices primarily in the Firm’s Licensing Section, which she co-leads with a group of 15 professionals. She focuses her practice on state licensing, registration, and regulatory matters affecting financial services companies, including debt collectors, debt buyers, sales finance companies, consumer lenders, and other financial services providers.

Lilian has directed the Firm’s largest multistate licensing projects and regularly assists clients with licensing strategies, business expansion, changes in ownership and corporate structure, regulatory inquiries, and other matters affecting their licensing obligations. Through many years of working with state licensing authorities across the country, she has developed extensive knowledge of state regulatory requirements, processes, and expectations and helps clients navigate complex licensing matters efficiently and strategically.

Lilian also assists with the licensing aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations, including regulatory due diligence, change-of-control requirements, approvals, and post-closing licensing matters.

After earning her law degree from the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico, where she graduated second in her class, Lilian became a member of the Louisiana Bar in 2004. Before joining the Firm, she worked at a Fortune 500 company in New Orleans.
