Elizabeth Fite Blanco
Elizabeth is a Florida native with 17 years of experience representing employers in cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, whistleblower statutes, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the WARN Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, contract disputes, and wage & hour issues before state and federal courts. Ms. Blanco also handles claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, OSHA, and other federal and state administrative agencies.
Elizabeth also focuses her practice on employer-side compliance, including day-to-day support and legal advice to clients big and small regarding all aspects of employment law.
Elizabeth lives in St. Petersburg, Florida with her husband (George) and two children (Cameron and Conor). She enjoys running, playing tennis, snow skiing, camping, traveling, and boating.
- Elizabeth has successfully defended hundreds of EEOC and state agency charges of discrimination during her career, including multiple class claims. She has also successfully defended appeals before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Elizabeth is a sought-after trainer who creates unique, customized training presentations regarding harassment, discrimination, leaves of absence under the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, wage & hour compliance, and many other employment law topics.
Publications and Lectures
- Elizabeth regularly conducts employment law trainings and lectures nationwide for employers and industry groups. She has also served as a presenter at the Florida Bar Association's Labor & Employment Board Certification Review Course for other lawyers seeking certification.
- Elizabeth is a member of the Employment Law sections of the Florida Bar Association and St. Petersburg Bar Association.
