James "Jack" L. Richards

James “Jack” Richards is part of the Employment Law Practice Group, but also has extensive knowledge of the various consumer laws affecting the Firm’s clients, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and related state laws.  Jack is admitted in Louisiana state courts and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. 

Prior to joining the Firm as a law clerk in October 2021, Jack clerked for the Honorable Mary Ann Vial Lemmon in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.  Jack obtained his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law where he graduated cum laude, and he obtained his B.A. in Mass Communications from Louisiana State University.  Jack also worked as a journalist covering the Louisiana legislature during the 2016 extraordinary and regular legislative sessions and has been published in USA Today, The Times Picayune | NOLA.com, The Advocate, The Daily Advertiser, and other Louisiana news organizations. 

Jack also does pro bono work for the Innocence Project of New Orleans.
